# Pikko > Pikko is a presentation app for classrooms, workshops and talks where the audience answers live polls on the slides from their phones. Pikko has no built-in AI; assistants make Pikko presentations by writing a .pikko file (a deck.json in the pikko/1 format) that Pikko opens exactly as written. To make a presentation, read the format guide below first: it is all you need. It describes the 1280×720 canvas with objects in exact px boxes, named colours and text styles, polls placed on slides, the ids that let a deck go back and forth, a short design guide, three complete examples and the errors Pikko reports. Write deck.json (or a .pikko zip with images in media/), and give it to the person to open in Pikko. Render or preview the slides and look at them before you hand the deck over. ## Format - [The .pikko format (pikko/1)](https://pikko.no/format/pikko-1.md): The complete guide as Markdown: canvas, deck, slide and object fields, styles, polls, ids, design guide, examples, errors. - [JSON Schema for deck.json](https://pikko.no/format/pikko-1.schema.json): Generated from the schema Pikko imports with, for structured output. - [Format page](https://pikko.no/format): The same guide for people, with the examples drawn as slides. ## Examples - [Lesson (Norwegian): Fotosyntese, deck.json](https://pikko.no/format/examples/lesson-nb.json): A Norwegian science lesson: nine slides with a poll, a word cloud, a quiz question and a scale. - [Lesson (Norwegian): Fotosyntese, .pikko file](https://pikko.no/format/examples/lesson-nb.pikko): The same deck as a .pikko file (a zip with deck.json). - [Workshop (English): Meetings worth having, deck.json](https://pikko.no/format/examples/workshop-en.json): A workshop with a word cloud, a scale and a choice poll next to the content they belong to. - [Workshop (English): Meetings worth having, .pikko file](https://pikko.no/format/examples/workshop-en.pikko): The same deck as a .pikko file (a zip with deck.json). - [Pitch (English): Tidepool, deck.json](https://pikko.no/format/examples/pitch-en.json): A four-slide pitch with a chart, a big number and an audience poll. - [Pitch (English): Tidepool, .pikko file](https://pikko.no/format/examples/pitch-en.pikko): The same deck as a .pikko file (a zip with deck.json). ## Optional - [Pikko connector (MCP)](https://pikko.no/mcp): A remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in. With it an assistant can read, create, update and render decks in the person's Pikko account without passing files around.
